courage /?k?r?d?/
1. The ability to do something that frightens one; bravery.
eg. “she called on all her courage to face the
2. Strength in the face of pain or grief.
eg. “he fought his illness with great courage”

I love how it mentioned the fright, pain, and grief because it is so true. For so many years, I was so afraid to take the plunge in chasing my dreams. Lately, I became quite ill because I didn’t want to face the fact that I was born to chase after my dreams. I persevered at studying a major that I never wanted to do. Though I finished it I was not satisfied. I went to work at a public hospital because I thought my skills might be of use there but ended up knocking on a great brick wall that I couldn’t break. Then I thought to myself, one day I will be brave and take a huge U-turn and get a grip on myself. And that day has come! Here I am today, taking risks despite what others might say.

All I want to say to everybody reading this is that life is too short for you to dwell on the past. Take courage in what you are called to do and do not be afraid of what the future holds because the future is what you make it. Choose today not tomorrow! Do it now not later! Find it here deep in your heart and not in others. Though it can be daunting, painful and even sad at times, know that you are never alone on this journey. And it’s worth it!
